Race Car Hire

Kent Motorsport’s race cars can be hired for race events, track days or simply for testing. We offer three race prepared saloon cars that have different levels of development and modification. Whether you are a novice to the sport or an experienced racer our cars cater for your needs.  

Our cars are set up for track use and developed over many years, they are easy and pleasurable cars to drive. You can read about the cars here: Clio 172 Cup, Clio 182 Cup, Daihatsu 'The Little Giant' Charade GTti.

We will prepare and set up the car ready for the event you are attending and deliver it to the circuit ready for you to use. On the day, we will get the car scrutineered, noise tested and ready to go for the event. During the event, we will also provide mechanical support as well as driver support. We are familiar with many race circuits in the UK and can help you to pinpoint the safest and quickest race lines on the track. Our aim is to provide you with all the support you need for a rewarding and memorable experience.

At some events, it will be possible for the car to be shared on the day with other drivers to a maximum of three drivers.

Please contact us and discuss the type of the event you are considering, the car you want to rent and the track or venue. You can pay the track day or race event fees directly to the event organisers or you can simply let us take care of the whole process for you.

Renault Clio 172 Cup car for hire

Kent Motorsport owner Yaser started competing back in 2003 with this Renault Clio 172 Cup. The car was bought brand new from a Renault dealer and it was on the track at Goodwood after its first 450 miles. Originally used as a sprint car it was later upgraded for racing. It is suitable to be used in either discipline. A much-loved car it has successfully competed in Sprints and Races all over the UK and also in Dubai. Progressively developed and modified over that time the car is a competitive and reliable package. The car has won many trophies including the TWMC All Sprint Championship class win in 2004. It is now available to hire and we can tailor a package to suit your needs.

With the modifications to the car, it now boasts a powerful engine with modified cams, throttle bodies, OMEX ECU, LEDA racing suspension, limited slip differential, short gear ratios and many other modifications. The engine now develops 213bhp as measured by Track and Road rolling road (one of the most conservative roller roads in the south east).

The car’s reliability has been proved in endurance races, running in the Two Hours race at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit in 2011 finishing second in its class with a best lap time of 1:52.56. In 2013, the car ran in the Birkett Six Hours race as a relay with the Harrow Car Club on the Silverstone GP circuit.

The car has had many other achievements. It finished third in class in the LMA Euro Saloons at Castle Coombe and has achieved many class wins in the UK and Dubai. The car still has its full interior and can run in a road going class. Call us for details or to discuss package options.

Renault Clio 1​82 Cup

Kent Motorsport owner Yaser Almagrabhi lived for a few years in Qatar. Eager to carry on competing he looked for something to race on the Lusail Circuit. This Renault Clio 182 Cup car had been competing in Dubai and had been purchased by an enthusiast in Qatar. With our past experience with the 172 Cup Car, we were already very knowledgeable on the setup required to make the car competitive.

We acquired the car and prepared it to compete on a limited budget. The engine and gearbox have been left completely standard. The car is equipped with a full FIA approved roll cage and the suspension has some modifications. The car ran competitively and frequently finished 4th and 5th overall. This was very respectable for the Clio given the Lusail Circuit has many long straights and less of the twisty bends where the Clio would naturally excel. The best lap time recorded for the Lusail circuit was 2:36.

Daihatsu Charade GTti

After racing the Renault Clio 172 Cup for a number of years we looked for a change and a new adventure. It had to be something a little different, not something you would normally see on the grid, but with potential for development. The answer we came up with was nothing less than the Daihatsu Charade GTti.

The Charade has a 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder engine running a turbo and twin camshafts. The car was made in the mid-80s and its engine was ahead of its time producing 101bhp as standard. It is very lightweight and a great handling car. This became the base of our new project and we quickly set about improving on the engineering and turning it into a race car.

The car is now running with modified Tighe cams and a bigger turbo, a much stronger gearbox and a limited slip differential. It now boasts a jaw-dropping 245bhp in a very small and lightweight car. As you will see on our services pages an increase in power and performance has to be developed along with suspension set up and braking performance. The Charade now has bigger brakes, racing suspension all specified and set up by us and developed over a number of years. The car originally ran with unmodified bodywork but it now runs very wide tyres on 9 inch wide wheels capable of producing an astounding amount of grip. Working with Mayur Ravalia, who worked for top racing teams, we have developed the widened front and rear wings and aerodynamics.

We have had success with the car winning the Class D LMA Euro Saloons Championship in 2009. The car finished second overall twice with the Red Dragon Race and Track Club (now known as Track Attack Race Club) on the Brands Hatch GP circuit with a best lap time of 1:47.047. Its best lap time at Brands Hatch Indy is 54.95 seconds. The car has frequently embarrassed much bigger machinery run on much larger budgets. Our fans used to call our battles with the competition as David vs Goliath.
